A downloadable tool for macOS

Current Version: 4.0b

Welcome to Weave 4

  • What is Weave?
    • Weave is ZZT's premier modding tool.
  • What platforms is it for?
    • Downloads are available for:
      • DOS (hardware or emulated)
      • Linux (Ubuntu 22.04 compatible)
      • 32- and 64-bit Windows
    • Additionally, a download is provided for LOOMzzt, Weave's classic-styled editing tool, for macOS.
      •  Although no version of Weave for macOS is planned, files created in LOOMzzt can make use of the web build, available in the WEBWEAVE.ZIP file in the Tools\ directory of the Windows downloads.
  • How do I run it?
    • Windows:
      • Extract to its own folder
      • Run "Weave 4.exe"
    • Linux
      • Extract to its own folder
      • Run "Weave4"
    • DOS
      • Extract to its own folder
      • Acquire emulator at zeta.asie.pl or comparable emulation/hardware
        • With Zeta: Extract zeta86 (required) and SDL (if included) to the same folder
        • Rename WEAVE4.EXE to ZZT.EXE in that folder
        • Run "zeta86".
  • How do I make games with it?
    • You can take a look at the contents of the Examples folder, but you're probably better off asking questions in the Discord to get started:

  • Can I just see the examples in action somewhere?

For now, these binaries are the available version of Weave. Should they not prove viable, the newest confirmed stable version of Weave will be made available instead.
