Weave 4.0 is available for a limited time.


Hello friends. While I cannot guarantee that everything's been worked out, I have what feels to me to be a pretty substantial milestone in the development of ZZT's premier modding tool. Weave 4 departs from its predecessors in the following key ways:

  1. Native Windows downloads with 32- and 64-bit binaries are now available.
  2. Compat mode is gone. .INI files are gone, with their functions rolled into the .CFG. The prior setup caused more confusion than clarity.
  3. Some attributes have been renamed and others removed. In particular, the lowered stat and flag limits associated with Compat mode have been instead lifted to their maximum, and name clashes between .INI and .CFG settings have had their namespaces changed.
  4. Substantially more example material is provided. Check the Examples folder or just run Weave in the folder containing W-START.ZZT.
  5. Worlds can load other worlds, allowing you to create custom menus, offer multiple versions (in different languages, for example), or distribute compilations.
  6. Speed settings that before did nothing now smoothly transition between the settings. Weave runs faster overall.
  7. 64th note support is now available for all versions. ZZM standard 'y' is used for those notes.
